I'm not banned on r/MGTOW, but I've pretty much been MGTOW without knowing that I was from an early age. I focused exclusively on myself and family. Every now and then women came and left my life, but always had negative affects on me. Dating is not for me. I cannot seem to find any woman interesting enough to want to allow her to be a permanent part of my life. And dating is expensive, not even that money is a problem for me. Nowadays, I just enjoy being by myself because even family has burned me a few times with helping them financially and emotionally. It can be very draining when you are 1 semi-successful young person out of a family of 20+ helplessly stuck with their family members in the lower middle class. When they see your car, or hear about your job promotion, you immediately get phone calls "Heyyyy buddy....! How are youuuu! Let's hang out!" - it is so fake and I have learned to not become their life line. I had to remove myself from them because it was destroying me. Now I am truly free. Free from women, free from family, free from society's demand that I provide and protect all except for myself. I'm not selfish and I have given my fair share. But at the end of the day, I go to sleep alone, and I eat alone. I will not starve just for someone else's sake when I have worked hard to provide for myself just as anyone else can and should.

Anyway, while I do enjoy the memes that poke fun at struggling women in the online dating world, the amount of bitterness overall coming from the main MGTOW sub does become a bit much and I fear it is only deterring potential young men from learning what it truly is to be MGTOW. MGTOW is not about the hatred of women. There's already a group for that. I think the amount of negativity being spread over there is painting a poor image over the whole idea of MGTOW, so much that I will never claim to be MGTOW just because people immediately have established a poor understanding of what MGTOW even means, and r/MGTOW might not be helping clear things up, but making the differentiation even more murky. The minute you say you are "MGTOW" people will think you are a woman-hater, a virgin/incel/creeper, or a grumpy young man who was "hurt" by some woman. But I am none of those at all. I'm simply a free man. I've always been. It's all that I know and its all that I enjoy and strive to be: freedom. I can cook for myself and eat whenever I want. I can spend all of my time doing exactly what I want. I can spend all of my money on anything I want. I can leave home whenever I want. I can move and work anywhere I want without having much to consider or burden my decisions. I feel sorry for people who will either never know what this is like, or will only find out just before they leave this world forever and pass away with regret.

Whenever I'm questioned as to why I am alone, instead of just saying "MGTOW", which is a heavily contaminated term now, I opt to being truthfully elaborate. I say something along the lines of, "Yeah, I hear its great to marry and have kids, but that type of life style is just not for me. I want to use my time here on Earth to travel the world, develop myself, try different foods, and pick up some hobbies I never knew I would enjoy. Life is really short and its hard to really make it your own if you settle too quickly for stationary responsibilities like a mortgage and children."
