I may be very new to it still, so I'm not sure if I'm speaking out of excitement or "newb"-ness to it, but I'm rapidly finding out that playing acoustic finger-style guitar is meditative and damned near emotionally cathartic.
I suck at it. Yup. I'm dreadful. But I've been working on the intro for a song for about three weeks now, and I woke up this morning and before my feet hit the floor out of bed, i grabbed the guitar and started playing for just a few minutes.
And I'll be damned if I didnt have an out-of-body experience watching my hands just work the fretboard and the strings, and I got every single note correctly. Five times over, just perfect. Three chords basically, but every string has to be plucked on time, precisely for it to sound right. And to nail it first thing in the morning when I would have been happy with "just one less" wrong note or rhythmic stutter between chord changes really got me going.
That adrenaline rush of beating even a tiny thing I've been struggling through as a goal had me up and going so fast with energy I very nearly forgot my morning coffee going out the door.
I'm feeling like a million bucks right now.
Makes me wonder, have you guys tried this? Maybe not guitar but some kind of artistic expression that you didnt do before going mgtow, either because your time was being monopolized or your desire to try something was discouraged. Since then, have you just deciding to try because you COULD, and then finding that you really enjoy doing it?
