This is a very interesting topic to me, because of how counter intuitive the idea is.
The definition of a cultural regression would be the reversal of cultural liberalism, to a more conservative state that existed in the past.
This would seem to be impossible in the modern world of globalism and world wide feminism spreading to every corner of the planet. It seems like absolutely nothing can stop the world wide spread of feminism and other leftist ideas.
But there is a good example of this happening in the past, in Iran during the Iranian revolution in the 1970s. Before Iran is what we all know Iran is like today, Iran used to be one of the most pro-American and pro-feminist countries in the Muslim world, and possibly the entire world. Women were allowed to walk around with their hair uncovered and religious morals were ignored. However, that all changed in the 1970s and Iran became one of the most anti-Western and anti-feminist countries in the world. It was even branded as being a part of the "Axis of Evil" by America.
So my question to you is; what are some countries which are likely to experience these cultural regressions to more patriarchal cultures, in the future?
Predicting these events would probably be difficult. I'm assuming that it was a complete surprise when Iran completely changed in the 1970s, as Iran was one of the most pro-American countries in the Muslim world. And now, the majority of Americans hate Iran and see them as the bad guys.
