The Women’s Charter rewards the conceit that women are always the “victims” of divorces. Global data, however, shows that women initiate 75% of divorce proceedings, and in 80% of such cases, come out financially with more assets than before the divorce was filed. Such outcomes have been researched by clinical psychologists to posit a strong correlation with the data point that divorced men who do not have custody and access to their children after a divorce are 30 times prematurely die than women. Indeed, the lifespan of men after divorces is statistically shorter than those who are married. Men can always remarry, say the Overlords, and they can “import” wives from the surrounding region of poorer female emancipation and empowerment for their passing on of bloodlines. If they commit self-harm, it is because they are weak according to our Game of Thrones mindset of child-rearing promulgated by one-party hand-picked judges. But data does not lie: Divorce is an all-encompassing societal harm for men, the children of divorces, and even women, who, as the news article attests, must now navigate the “stigma associated with divorce” in conservative Singapore society.
Many Singaporean and expatriate families have had the misfortune of having undergone the Wild Wild West of social engineering disguised as judicial proceedings that is the Singapore Family Courts system. In most of these, there are long-lasting emotional, financial, and mental trauma associated with the procedures that Singapore has instituted, purely for the reason to “save face” that the ruling party is upholding social engineering laws that are supported by 50% of the population, not because the concept of justice dictates such logic. If the Courts followed science, then they would not be citing 1985 child psychiatry research as their foundations on the understanding of the role of divorce on the development of children, which correlates to their preconceived notions of women as a protected species for child-rearing and has been soundly rejected in all of scientific thought outside of the country in every developed economy. Yet, the agencies chooses to find science to uphold its social engineering rather than dictating proceedings that help the children and families overcome the major disruption to their family unit.
Like many things by the dinosaur policymakers, the thinking is always defending what is the status quo first, and let the conclusions and logic derive from that defense. Using logic to come up with new, realistic thinking that is reflective of modern practicalities of life cannot be done by the Iron Rice Bowl – the pay grade is not that high. It has to come from the top of the tree, and only when s/he makes that decision, can the bureaucrats engage in historical revisionism and say that the new policy of equality of genders was always the policy for the country all along. And the state-controlled media can complete the brainwashing.
So, who wants to be the one to tell Singapore to turn off the lights on a failed social experiment? Apparently, no one inside the island. And as a result, countries and companies far and wide know that before its citizens arrive to live in the Republic, they must understand that Singapore is stuck in stone-age thinking in many facets (of course in freedom of speech, the press, criticism, sexuality, gender roles, racial stereotypes, etc.) but the damage to families and children through their legal system is institutionalized to harm the development of children just so that no single government bureaucrat can say that this type of thinking has a place in the modern world and its recruitment of a global workforce and the working lives of Generation Z and the Millennials who reject this type of strait-jacket thinking just to not admit error of the social engineering system that is Singapore society.
