A friend/co-worker is getting a divorce. He doesn't want anything from her and just wants it to be over ASAP. He filed for an uncontested divorce with an attorney. The wife has not and will not sign. The lawyer can't do anything to make her sign. Now my friend thinks he has to pay the attorney another $1500 to change it to a contested divorce. Will this help or hurt his cause and what route should/could he go instead? I would love to save him that money because it seems like there should be an easier way. They have been separated for almost 2 years and she's the one who left! They have no kids together. This is in Georgia. Thanks in advance.
