I have been back and forth with my parents on this topic, and this just came up tonight. I am someone who tends to fall asleep in movies, and my father said, "Should we force OP to watch the movie by taping his eyes open and strapping him down?" he insists that he meant this as a joke, but I do not think this is a joke given their past behaviors I am not sure as what to do?? Any thoughts on whether or not this is abuse, and what can I do about them, as my hands are tied because i have nowhere to go until August when I can finally move out.
