feminists look at raw numbers and assume bias (only when men are doing better, though). actual critical thinking, analysis, or statistics/math are not their strong suit. they constantly want more women in STEM, i say they should start following their own advice

One negates the other, the only question is which one is doing the negating, and which one is being negated.

Article one states, "40% of books submitted to the Booker prize over the past five years were by women".

Article two states, "the shortlisted authors over the past five years have been 75% female.".

Therefore, based on the above data one can conclude that 75% of shortlists for awards were female, which implies that even though female writers publish a slightly smaller number of books than male writers, they are shortlisted for awards in a greater number.

In conclusion, the stats provided by both articles imply that women do in fact dominate publishing.

They may have dominated the world of fiction.

But there still might be a bias.

No one will ever actually know.
