I work with a bunch of women. All they do is gossip, complain, bitch, the whole nine yards.

I do a good job at avoiding it. Towards the end of the shift everyone usually leaves. I get all my shit done but when there's down time I go off on my own because I don't want to be any part of the fuckery that goes on there.

My coworker who holds the same position (been here 26 years) is the worst human being I have ever worked with, she will yell, and get really nasty if something isn't done HER way. She will try to talk down to you with ridiculous logic as if the way she does things is the only way to do it. And even if you do it her way. It's never good enough. The whole place complains about her but since we are union they have had no success at firing her. Also she always threatens to sue if they try to fire her (yep she's one of those). I've been here a couple months now and since I work directly with her I've got a pretty good hold on her. If I piss her off she can do thinks to make my job suck so I play the fake role and stay on her good side. When she tries to yell at me I will address it and let her know I won't be talked to like that. She's always willing to take things to another level (aka a screaming match) one thing I will not participate in ever, let alone the work place.

I had finished a job in the one operating room because one of the ladies told me they were done in there. An hour later they went back in. When I questioned why I was told to clean it. She gave me a rude attitude/remark about how she doesn't know what will happen in a day and blah blah. Then 20 Minutes later is asking to do me a favor.

My question is when this women give me these attitudes. Or try to yell at me what am I supposed to do. It's kind of hard to treat it as shit test in a professional environment without really pissing one of them off. Is it ever worth it to fight back especially when you know you're right? I know a lot of you will say to just quit and I am in the works of finding something better but until then. How should I handle this?
