If agreed, abuse directed at women would be treated more seriously than comparable crimes against men, and could even lead to tougher sentences in the courts.

As though men can/should take abuse because they are men and can take the hit. Why would we focus on abuse, regardless of who did it, when we can just cater to a subset of the people.

All of these happen to males. There was a web site dedicated to taking secret pictures of hot men on the underground.
