Trying to not be long winded here, but this is bugging me to no end....

One regular argument we hear from feminists and women's rights activists is how women must fear being raped by a random man on the street. Our typical reply is along the lines of men are 3 times more likely to be violently assaulted including murder, more so by a stranger. Which is imperially true.

So this extremely sad and unfortunate murder of Sarah Everard is showing the true colors of feminism, what happened to her IS A MALE ISSUE. She was murdered, not raped or kidnapped, she was murdered, the very thing we as men show is a real problem for us at triple the rate of women. So a male victim dominated crime happens to a women and it's all about women. The issue/murder has been hijacked and turned political.

This is something we can not let happen, or allow the opposite to happen either when something exceptional happens to us. We must speak up and point out this victim championing. The media is not helping of course and we can't really contact them, so it's important we point out what happened to Sarah is the very thing we, men, are expressing we have to worry about, being murdered at triple the rate.

The women's right movement is taking something that is a primary male issue to the degree of triple the rate, and taking a single instance and claiming the entire problem is not only theirs, but using it to place blame. This is not productive for them or us, it helps no one because it's changing the narrative of who the victims usually are which takes focus off a problem and shifts it to a smaller one.

Please, speak up. Please make note this is the exact issue we are bringing up when women bring up walking down the street in fear of rape, men have to worry about exactly what happened to Sarah and it falls on deaf ears regularly. Use this as an example of something that happens to men more than women, women are not excluded from it, Sarah Everard is your example, and express how there are issues that happen to women more than men, but do still happen to men.

We need to take the high road here and use Sarah Everard's untimely death as something for progress, positivity, and unity instead of adding fuel to the hate and blame fire with silly arguments and being defensive. Let's be positive and use this as a mutual point to talk, not a contentios point to argue.
