Whenever you open up about a horrible man to other men, men have the tendency to say that these people 'aren't actual men, actual men respect women' or that 'Men actually do XYZ, these are just monsters'
Like no, that monster had a name, and it's a man. It has the same features as other men do. It can be a part of your friend group, it can be a part of your family, it can be your neighbor.
Of course he can be a monster, but that doesn't mean he isn't a man.
The person who catcalled me and told me it was a shame he couldn't see my whole face because of my mask? That's a real man. Same as you. Same as men around you who do this stuff to women on a daily basis.
I find it to be a cheap way to distance oneself from these people, and I genuinely find these people who do this to be part of the problem.
