Really? I've personally only lived as a man until i was thirty but i haven't heard of a single case of this happening outside of the internet at all. Not even as in my friends told me about someone they knew killing themselves because of rape accusations. I've never even met anyone who had these charges pressed against them. I know a lot of girls who told me in private of having been raped and never having gone to the police.

So, just from my personal perspective living in Germany and having experienced a bit of both sides of society, cases of men's lives being ruined seem to be mostly isolated cases while having been raped or molested and not gone to the police or the police just deciding not to involve the state attorney seem to be extremely common.

But this doesn't mean that these white knights aren't a big issue! A woman accusing someone of rape should lead to the police investigating and everyone else keeping out of it while they do. Instead, a lot of guys seem to believe that "believing women" means that they need to torture whoever is responsible. Having been raped myself, i'm telling you, this is not what it's about: It feels terrible to not even being able to admit to what happened to yourself aloud without people trying to convince you that you're making it up. Just a simple "oh shit, i fell sorry for you, how can i help you get through this?" would be everything most women would expect from a guy they open up to about something like this. Being able to talk about it with the other side listening and believing you without expecting you to draw consequences like involving the police who will then question you intensively or even going vigilant and ruining the life of the person responsible and their own lives and ours in return because someone we trusted just killed someone and it only happened because they talked about having been raped.

Most female rape victims are actually more afraid of white knights when they don't dare speaking up than about just people coming to tell them they're damned sluts who don't deserve it any better. The word inside our minds after having gone through these experiences does that automatically and we're already feeling destroyed and worthless, so self-protection is the least thing on our minds at a point like this. How to avoid further fallout by only talking to the people who won't go whiteknighting the problem, that's actually a much higher priority for us.

Also, a lot of guys are potential whiteknights but try to instinctively save themselves from having to kill someone because they've been taught that it's the right thing to do and in order to solve this, they just put pressure on trying to disprove the woman who told them about having been raped.

To some guys, us saying "i've been raped" seems to mean "i expect you to kill someone for me" while we actually just mean "please understand that i'm still healing from this and treat me accordingly".

PS: Fun fact: When feminists are talking about "toxic masculinity", they mean what you guys here call "white knighting".

You seem to be delusional. Get a grip on yourself, read my comment again and you'll realize that I didn't actually say anything that you're accusing me of.

I'm sorry that your friend died but I've never denied your experiences. I've only described what I've witnessed myself. If you are unable to imagine a world that is unfair to women but that is also unfair to men, where me and my friends really did get raped and never got help, yet your friend is still dead - well, how is this even connected?

How can you talk about respect when you clearly have no idea what that even means? You're using your dead friend as a tool to shut up women whose opinions you dislike - THAT'S disrespectful. You're abusing your dead friends legacy to justify your own sexism. That's like you're raping your dead friends soul after his body passed away. How can you do that and still be able to look into the mirror? :O
