I'm sorry thar your family is going through this. It's going to be emotionally draining, but fight (not in a high conflict, narcissistic way, but for the daughter that you two share). Find lawyers that you can get by showing you qualify based on income-to-debt/bills ratio if you can. If your husband's ex wants to exploit your family and do minimal work herself to provide for their daughter, use that. If she is actually gainfully employed and is neglecting to inform the Child Support enforcement agency or whatever, use that. If the agency doesn't know he now has a 2nd child to take care of, let them know asap.

As you wrote, your husband's first daughter is very young so this is the beginning and won't change overnight, but so long as you stay vigilant, it doesn't have to feel like forever. The courts say that children's needs come first so you and your husband's child have to be factored in their reconsideration, else the system is even more broken than anyone can see.

Sorry if I sound patronizing or armchair (I'm not a lawyer, paralegal, anything like that), but I just empathize with what you are going through and it can feel bleak at times, especially when you're dealing with an exploitative and/or manipulative person who has rules for the world that they themselves don't abide by.

That is the future life of married men.What a privilege.He was lucky with you(he must be good looking chad type), there were divorced men sleeping in the car because they cannot afford to pay rent and child support at the same time.

You should have not married him,but cohabitate. You should have kept separate money not a joined account.Money for child support will be deducted from the joined account,which mean you pay for his child too.You can divorce him and cohabitate afterwards.
