MEN: WAR COSTS LIVES - FIRST IN A SERIES OF POEMS 

As war must take the lives of men, such was the war of nations twice in London, Paris, and Berlin, with mustard gas and bloody fights, and killing some one hundred million men at sea, on land, and in the air - great loss for fighting each villain, but leaving graves at which to stare.  And now upon the souls of men, an ever whining cry is heard - that men are privileged for the sin of triumph over other herds. It does not matter that men bled and died, and more than that were cut from living normal lives. What's said is cruel from those who suffered not.   The greatest sacrifice has been, and always will so be, the good and free that cost men dear to win - though granted to all, yet oft obscured by those who hate the price but not  the gift, those haters of the work of men, those spiteful to their gut that men should have a place and mark.
