Couldn't the husband initiate legal proceedings against the wife for deprivation of the children? Get a ruling against her first and then maybe SHE would owe him money.....

As they're still married, he should consult someone about liquidating assets and protecting them through this troubled time. It will involve selling the house that spouse wants a share of, but that's not going to be possible if he has to have legal defence. Consult someone very smart, have very little available for spouse to even think of grabbing and be done with it... Maybe set up a foundation, with himself as salaried head, for "Fathers whose spouses have murdered the babies". Nothing left for spouse to grab.

Keep in mind that any initial divorce filing by either side is a request/demand for everything including the kitchen sink.

These filings are almost never read by the court and filings like this are rarely/if ever granted.
