One of the most important books about men’s perspective in gender equality questions in 2019, comes from the Norwegian novelist Øystein Stene. An autobiography from a former feminist, filled with source references and verifiable numbers clarifying how the social society systematically overlooks men's challenges. Interestingly enough; not one of the facts in the book was tried questioned in any Norwegian media or newspaper.

“This is a book about being a man in a Scandinavian social democracy where gender equality and women's struggle have changed society a long time ago. Where does the man stand with these stories, what light do they shed on him, and what do they hide in the dark? It began with novelist Øystein Stene writing a critical essay on #metoo in 2018. The author was derided on social media, his credibility questioned in the press. Soon he received anonymous death threats in the mail, signed "all women". It became clear to him that the problem was not just what he said, but that he was a man saying it.”

* Norway proudly claims to be the most gender-equal country in the world, while the men’s movement argues their perspective was never considered at all in this female-in-focus "equality".
