lol that's a massive stereotype, people in the north are generally rougher especially compared to southerners regardless of gender and background because of the weather and the environment we've grown up in. I would say that's a general thing, the people in the north of the UK are very different from the south.

Source: I'm a northerner and have lived in Yorkshire for 29 years.

The information a lot of people outside the UK get about the UK is from television and that's all London based and they're basically a bunch of rich fucks even by my families' standards and I'm middle class. To give you an idea of how different the living standards are in the north compared to London the average London family household that can live comfortably there is going to make even an middle class family in the north look destitute.

I'm biased because of where I grew up but honestly having travelled the UK a bit more and seen how the other side lives southerners really are a bunch of pansies.
