One reason is it is easier to “bounce around” as a female maybe.

My wife was homeless for half a year and nobody even knew. She could pass it off as “I’m sleeping over at X’s place” and go from house to house.

A female could even sleep at dudes houses if they needed too easier I think than a guy could.

I have some homeless friends and they happen to all be male now. One was female but she lives alone with county assistance now.

Lots of guys are stuck paying child support etc that are homeless too.

50% of people are women. If the data is less than 50% women, then women are not the ones being targeted!

And 3/4 of shelters in most medium sized towns are female or maybe female/child. Good luck finding a men's shelter anywhere around. I was helping develop a family (read single father+ child) shelter in my town which has two women's shelters and no one wanted it one bit because of violence and stealing and it was heartbreaking to see no one even want to help these guys even when we had a solid plan and backing. The neighborhoods fought against it tooth and nail.
