I have a young daughter from a previous marriage. I’ve since remarried to a beautiful woman and wonderful step mom. Needless to say, I am very happy. I have close to a half time visitation split with my ex-wife.

Over the course of the past three and a half years, my ex has filed motions in court on about 7 different occasions. Most of it being falsified and later remanded. Well pretty much all falsified as her and her lawyer have never filed anything that is halfway truthful about me. I try to be a good person in general. I try to be a good father. Since we split up years ago, I have not missed a single visitation with my daughter. I have not so much as shown up late once. I love my daughter very much.

In the time we’ve been split up, my ex-wife has gotten into two long-term romantic relationships and allowed my daughter to spend extensive time around both men. Both relationships ended abruptly and at last check, my ex is currently alone after just very recently ending her 2nd long term relationship.

I had to file motions in court to stop my ex-wife from berating me in text. From sending me threats concerning decisions she was going to make for my daughter unilaterally. She has always been verbally abusive of me, but especially since the divorce. Those motions were very recently settled as well.

My daughter has once again begun a familiar pattern of behavior. Breaking out into tears when she sees me show up to school to pick her up, because she “misses her mommy” after having spent a few days with her prior to. For the first hour of visitation over and over again “i miss my mommy, I want to see her.” Today I brought her home from school and she wouldn’t even get out of the car.

I always try to be understanding and supportive during these moments of fit, because I don’t want her to see me as the enemy. Now that the court motions are settled, it’s happening like this every single visitation. And we’ve seen it before flare up around court dates. After about an hour or so of this, she forgets about it and is happy and playing cheerfully like nothing ever happened. She enjoys her time with me. I am gentle with her, to a fault at times even.

While I do understand that transition can be rough on a child at times, this is happening way too often and conveniently flaring up around court dates and other drama going on with my ex. My ex-wife once kidnapped her as a baby from my house one night at 1:30am when I was asleep. All the signs of parental alienation are present. I would like to hear experiences from other men who’ve endured this agony of watching their child be abused mentally by a vindictive mother. I would like to know what recourse there is. As we know, parental alienation is very difficult to prove in court, because it leaves no physical scars or bruises. But the damage can be catastrophic and not easily undone. I appreciate any insight men here can provide.
