This is far too common in gay bars.

In the States, lots of gay bars (that cater to men) have signs up now that remind women they are entitled to the space. Harassing a DJ will get you bounced in a split second because lots of girls want to slow dance and gay bars have a faster dance beat. At the gay bar nearest me, the sign says quite simply: "You are now in a gay space. If you are not gay, check your privilege or get photographed and thrown out." (They photograph trouble makers and have a "wall of shame" in the back).

When I first read this I was imagining a little girl, like 6 yo or so. That would indeed be a problem. But if they were using "girl" to refer to a woman, then the situation is far different.
