So this guy I know is having a hard time.

His ex is constantly taking him to court, and making him pay her lawyer fees.

He's not even working much because of health problems, but he works intermittently as a handyman, and refurbishes lawnmowers and sells them.

She makes 3x more than he does, when the kids were babies HE stayed home with them.

So he was basically the "housewife" in the marriage.

But after the divorce, they gave custody to the mother, and made him pay support.

I feel like it's straight up discrimination.

If he had been a woman, with a baby at home, no judge in the world would take that baby away and say "go work" and make him pay the bread-winner's lawyer bills.

But since he's a man, he has to be the provider apparently.

This is in Utah, around the Logan area.

Does anyone have contacts or numbers for legal aid in that area? Any advice for him?

PS - Incidentally this same man's brother has custody of their 2 little boys, the mother has NEVER paid child support, and they say they can't do anything because she's in Iowa. He has yet to receive 1 penny in support, works 2 jobs and uses the grandma for childcare to go to work and support them.
