My experience was that males and females who excelled were pretty equally embraced and supported. Teachers and faculty loved the winners that made them look and feel good.

The difference was when students struggled. Female students were assisted and counseled and given help, especially if they asked for it. Extra credit, extended deadlines, Mulligan tests, even just straight up "You tried hard" grade adjustments.

Male students who didn't ask for help were invisible. Those who did ask for help were usually knocked down for it. IE "You wouldn't be behind if you took better notes. I've already explained this to you once. You're being lazy. I don't have time to help you. You need to just figure it out. " Some times the student was sent up to the office for disruptive and disrespectful behavior. For asking for help.

I've not had said experience. From my perspective, teachers tend to treat the more vocal students as more academically inclined than those that just sit there.

It depends on where you grew up this sort of thing unfortunately which is why I always say to people in that situation get out and travel more. Mass brawls in the hallways etc. were a regular problem where I went to school and the teachers were so fucking negligent about my education that my parents discovered they were lying about the progress I was making in maths.

I've always been fascinated by self-segregated societies and bubble communities having grown up in one myself without even realising it and it's really weird. It doesn't have to be anywhere like North Korea sometimes people just cloister themselves to the extreme and have no idea of the outside world.

It very much depends on a number of factors. For instance, schools in rural areas where there's no industries interested in moving in and declining population are generally far more concerned with if they'll have a livelihood in five years' time than they are in the ideals spouted by feminism. In areas like that where the state and federal governments don't want to step in to help stabilize the local economy, the people living there can't afford to give special treatment based off gender.

In large cities and other urban areas where there's usually a lot of jobs to compete for and no risk of the local economy ceasing to exist in the next few decades, people often have more time to devote to different social groups/political organizations, as well as more access to them. This makes urban areas the hotzone for gender and identity politics such as what feminism engages in.
