Being a gamer and games developer there's nothing more cringy for me than reading 'analysis' on the games industry from a fucking news journalist. This moron doesn't get it, gamers love competition, they love variety otherwise they don't have a wide selection of games to pick from and play.

It has nothing to do with the timing of the release and as the OP says everything to do with hard left revisionist bullshit being shoved down everyone's throats. Meanwhile you have comparitively small indie titles getting heaps of praise because they're not political and just make a fucking historical game properly, even with the problems, people still like this sort of thing more than some shitty SJW ( NPC ) game.
