Well, if the story actually played out like the poster says it did (which smells a lot like a /r/thatHappened type story, but for the sake of argument we'll pretend the post is accurate to what happened)
She could make the argument that she was feeling threatened and defended herself. Assault does not have to be physical, if somebody explicitly verbally threatens you, for example. In this case, it would play more as a legal defence but either way, this dude would likely not report it.
