They always avoid the r word don't they? It's always "seduces" or in this case just "sex with". If it's a man there's rape in every sentence but as soon as it's a woman that's done it that word just isn't used.

Disgraced elementary teacher Kyle Wilson will spend his first night behind bars on Friday when he serves the first weekend of his 90-day jail sentence for sexual encounters with one of his students.

Wilson will also spend two years on probation, must register with police as a sex offender and submit a sample of his DNA for a national database.

Ontario Court Judge Matthew Webber delivered the "lenient" sentence to the 34 year old former public school teacher Tuesday after a joint submission from the Crown and his lawyer.

"As a community we can't have a teacher breach the trust of our young people" Webber said. "You violated that trust"

Webber described the sentence as "a lenient one" but within acceptable range for the offence of a single count of sexual assault.

Charges of sexual interference and sexual touching were dropped in May when Wilson pleaded guilty. Webber gave the former teacher credit for that plea which he said spared his young victim the "stress and angst" of a trial.

"You've suffered real consequences as a result of your conduct," Webber said. "You have given up a career as a result of your conduct. As your lawyer acknowledged, your teaching days are over."

Wilson was a teacher with the Ottawa-Carlton district school board in 2016 when he was charged for the encounters with the girl whom he met in 2011 when she was 12 and he was her basketball coach. He was her primary teacher the next year for Grade 8 and the two began sending lengthy text messages to each other.

When the girl graduated to Grade 9 in a different school, Wilson convinced her mother to let him help coach her basketball team.

He would pick her up and drive to Costco parking lot where he would mount her and fondle her, court heard. He bought her alcohol, sent her photos of him in underwear and told her he was unhappy in his marriage and that he loved her.

The encounters ended when the girl's sister found a love letter Wilson sent her for her 15th birthday. The mother went to the police.

Wilson went on sick leave and later resigned from the school board. He worked as an office administrator and is trying to establish a career as a photographer. He is still married and is the father of a six-month-old.

What does it matter? Either gender should be prosecuted for having relations with a minor...or are you more concerned for yourself? do you like minors and want a dick pass for yourself?
