Maybe, maybe not. Question is, did she get there by being competent or by having a pussy?

A woman capable of running a country or a large company like GM is going to be a lot rarer than a man, given the way our IQ bell curves work...that said, they do exist. And ironically, they tend to be lukewarm at best towards feminism.

So I guess the question really is, is Mary Barra a feminist? If not, you're probably good.

But if so, sell sell sell and run like hell.

I work in tech. Almost every single woman I've worked with have been prone to fucking shit up, especially the ones who got into positions of responsibility.

Basically, I've observed the following archetypes based on their positions in the hierarchy:

The drones - Usually the ones (of the women) who fuck shit up the least, because they can usually only do what they're told. "Good girl"-syndrome is common, so when they fuck up, it's generally through being overly "diligent" - They try to cover every single base, resulting in overly amitious solutions which inevitably fail; either because they're too complicated for the alloted time frames or because they simply don't have the skills required. They're too cautious and fall into these little loops where they do nothing because they don't dare to take initiatives. Usually stressed out of their fucking minds. The good ones tend to be shy nerd girls.
Low level or mid level managers - Conflicts galore. When they don't get their way, they complain and bitch about it being because they're women yadayada. Tend to be either very lazy (having gotten their positions through ass kissing), or nurture superiority complexes which aren't congruent with their skill levels. Usually, the ones who aren't lazy, suffer from the good girl complex as well, like the good girl drones. They're so insecure that they make unreasonable demands from all their subordinates, generating a lot of unnecessary work, thereby ratcheting up the stress levels enourmously. Gah. The best ones are, again, shy nerd girls, but the problem with those is that they're extremely shy of conflicts, and tend to be evasive when the pressure goes up.
High level managers - Either super controlling drama queens who got their positions by "being assertive" (or on their backs) who cause unbelivable amounts of conflict, or technically skilled nerd girls who are completely unassertive and who can't lead for shit.

Most of the women I've worked with in tech haven't been bad people per se - They just haven't been suited for their jobs.

The tendency I see most of the time is that the actual tech is beyond the women, so they tend to glide over to more administrative tasks, which is essentially the fast lane to mid level management. There they go on to cause trouble and stress for everyone else.

Such women tend to argue with tech lingo, BUT they invest their emotions in the arguments. Therefore, if you disagree with them, they take it personally.

My opinion is that women in tech, 9 times out of 10, need to be in positions where they're controlled. They need non-open ended tasks in order to perfom and not cause trouble.

The most valuable skill for a guy working with women in tech, or anywhere else basically, is the ability to say no and to not be cowed by the ensuing outburst.

I would probably hover over the sell button if I had GM shares and monitor the situation very closely.
