He was an early MRA from 1970s, with some Menslib-ish tendencies, but lacking the typical Menslib obedience to feminism. Slightly different perspective than Warren Farrell's. He concentrated more on psychology of gender relations. (Unfortunately, this sometimes meant going into Freudian mambo jambo.)

From The New Male: From Self-Destruction to Self-Care:

> "For most men [feminism] has meant nothing more than greater involvement with household chores, child care, and support for the woman in her new career and academic aspirations. In other words, it has only added to his pressures, responsibilities and burdens … without providing any obvious benefits in terms of greater freedom, mobility, expressiveness, security and satisfaction."

Here is his early observation that feminism feeds off traditionalism:

> "This [feminist] depiction of the oppression and victimization of the woman by the malevolently motivated man is unbalanced, unfair and psychologically invalid........Until very recently, most men have responded to feminist accusations of chauvinism and oppression by passive or sometimes even direct and guilty agreement. Men so readily absorb guilt and responsibility because they are deeply woven into the fabric of traditional man-woman relationship."
