Just put them all in the same competition and award prize money based on where you finish in the tournament. That would be true equality.

First, let’s look at the facts. Williams and Federer are both 36 years old. Williams has won 23 Grand Slam titles, while Federer has won a total of 20. Williams won her first Grand Slam at the US Open in 1999, while Federer obtained his first Grand Slam win in 2003 at Wimbledon.

Now, let’s look at the figures. Williams has received approximately £64,207,128 in prize money throughout her career, while Federer has received around £88,275,577. That’s a difference of £24,068,449, which is almost unfathomable when one assesses their individual achievements.

If you look at their stats, Federer has played in 149 singles finals vs Williams' 92. So far from being 'almost unfathomable', it's 100% expected. Even including the less lucrative doubles it's still 163 vs 125 in Federer's favour.

I figure the disparity in how many games they play is more due to when they set up the rules they figured people wanted to see the men’s matches more, so they made the women’s matches shorter so they didn’t take as much time. It may have been true then, but now I wouldn’t know. I don’t watch tennis.

Although it seems the men’s prize should be more if they have to play more matches.

How about having the finalists of the men's and women's finals play each other in winner takes all match.
