Disaster for men's mental health.

Female psychologists outnumbering males 9:1 in the under 35 age group is really alarming. But I totally get why it's like that.

No force on Earth could make me go back into psychology.

There's nowhere men are more likely to encounter the kind of woman who will eg. become hopelessly obsessed with him and then destroy his life with false accusations when he doesn't return her affections. Except maybe social work. I'd recommend avoiding that one too.

Case in point - another article presently on our front page:

Women tend to know very little about the male sexuality and how the sexual or other intimate relationships work from a male perspective. They don't know because very often nobody has told them about how things work for men neither in the everyday life nor in textbooks. And even if they are told, they tend to not take it all that seriously but prefer the "female narrative" that the culture feeds us in the media.

If a psychotherapist is furthermore a feminist, a male patient with sexual or other intimate problems is not only getting unhelpful advice but rather harmed by the negativity or even hostility many feminists feel towards men or by the erroneous worldview they foster. And there is often no way of knowing if the therapist you are going to see is a feminist.

This is particularly alarming in countries where most psychotherapist treatment is a public service. Either you see the therapist that the system appoints you to or you see no therapist.

I once discussed this with a female therapist. She agreed that it could be a problem for certain men. But on the other hand, she was convinced that a female therapist can treat male as successfully as female patients/customers if the customer is open-minded.

But when I asked about the differences between the male and female sexual or intimate traits, attitudes, problems etc. she was totally lost. She, for example, seemed to believe that as the women's liberation moves ahead the differences between male and female sexuality are shrinking (while the opposite in many ways is more likely to be true).

Because it's an easy PhD relatively speaking. Like taking all business math instead of math math (TBH I found business stats more useful practically speaking). They do what they do in every field: find the easiest jobs, mob them en masse.

Clinical psychology is damn near unfalsifiable with HIPAA used to hide any evaluation of efficacy. My ex would often fall asleep during client sessions, doodle, gossip about clients and other practitioners.
