Western military involvement in Afghanistan enabled the re-establishment of the Bacha Bazi trade wherein boys are bought and sold to be raped. The trade had been almost entirely wiped out. That enablement was part of the deal those nations had with the Afghani warlords. Little boys are back on the menu.
