There's a hilarious argument made by feminists -- that throughout history, women weren't "allowed" to work. Yes, because work ie toil is a highly pleasurable activity. Just look at all those happy men in coal mines. This confusion evidently arises from the fact that most feminists are rich women, so when they think of "work" they think of a "career," rather than working in eg a textile mill.
