When I was looking at the accusations made by James Franco's accuser, Sarah Tither-Kaplan, the only one that stuck out was he removed protective plastic guards covering actresses’ vaginas while simulating oral sex on them. The reason being that it wasn't industry standard practice.

I didn't see that as worse than what Mindy Kaling admitted to doing forcing her tongue into actors mouths in contravention of industry standard practices. In fact, many feminist / progressives even take the position that penetration makes something worse.

That aside, I thought I remembered an article on how male nudity was portrayed on Spartacus.

It seems the male genital covering is not industry standard if guys had to request it. It's also not clear why they felt they had to justify it. Did Rob Tapert ask them why they wanted one? If not providing an actress covering for their genitals is sexual exploitation, it looks like male actors are sexually exploited on a routine basis, but a big deal will be made over the one time it happens to an actress.
