Men’s right activist Paul Elam has been accused by feminists and left-wing reactionaries as being a rape apologist. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Paul Elam is an advocate of common sense and good judgment. In The Red Pill: Raw Files, he discusses how women in our era often make poor judgement, and then blame men for actions they were personally responsible for. He uses as the example women who drink excessively at nightclubs, leave their friends behind, and get in the car with men they have never met before for a one-night stand. If the woman turns sour over the following days she can charge the man with rape, and even though her actions on the night were extremely negligible, and she was asking for trouble, the man gets blamed. The ensuing court proceedings may very well ruin the man’s life, and all because a woman had bad judgement and then changed her mind after the event.
In these cases there are several issues at play. Firstly, women nowadays are essentially off the hook for their bad judgement. There is no punishment, no perceived negligibility, and no reprimands for acting promiscuous, sleeping with a guy, and then accusing the guy for ‘rape’ when she failed to say ‘No’ in the first place. Secondly, men need to be extremely careful with women, and educate themselves around laws of sexual consent. This isn’t a problem for me personally as I don’t date, but it is relevant for the majority of men. In many countries consent cannot be legally obtained if the man and woman are intoxicated. Further, if verbal consent is not obtained prior to sex, the man will often have an extremely hard time upholding his innocence in court. If his actions were deemed ‘reckless’ in the eyes of the law; which is a subjective judgment, then he may be charged or imprisoned. How many young men leave high school with a knowledge of these laws in mind?
Paul Elam is not a rape apologist. He is an advocate of common sense. If women act recklessly, lead men on, and get themselves into a bad situation, they should be held negligible for their recklessness. This is not to say that is their fault for being raped, but instead they should be held accountable for acting in a duplicitous manner or for being reckless. Men should not be shamed unfairly in the eyes of the law for these women’s actions. It’s time to advocate for better judgement and greater common sense in our times.
