I've been doing the single dad thing for two and a half years and I have not seen a dime. It shouldn't be about the money. It's about what's best for the kids. Locking up their dads is unlikely the best thing for the kids, but that doesn't matter. It's about making women's lives easier and punishing the men for it.

My child support was just upped from 50.00 a month to 395.00, the mother hasn't worked for at least 2 years now, I was pinching every penny I had just to get by before they changed it, I have no idea how I'm going to survive, my daughter lives 6 hours away from me, I won't be able to afford travel and hotel expenses to see her any more. I've been severely depressed lately to where I'm barely hanging on, I want it to end.

I notice looking at these methat they do not seem to have the money to pay for much. Its all very well saying that children should be paid for, but it should be dynamically linked to the ability to pay. However should a man be expected to pay if they made it known they don't want a child? Certainly there should be some way to have a "virtual abortion" it would only be bringing men somewhat on a level with women, though you may be pissed that your genetic material has been combined with some woman you have grown to have severe reservations about.

I pay $1500 a month while my son mainly lives with me and I still pay 100% of his expenses (food, school stuff, healthcare etc). If I were to ever challenge this payment I would lose access to my son.
