So, one of my friends, a guy in his mid-fifties, lost his wife of thirty plus years a few months ago. He just came home from work one day and found her dead of an aneurism.
Since then, although he is not ready to date, we have both been amused by the fact that women who knew him beforehand (and women who find out he's a widower) have been throwing themselves at him left and right. And I mean shamelessly, ridiculously throwing themselves at him. Even right after the funeral.
And he's no huge prize pig or anything. Average looking at best, lower middle class income.
But it's like the fact that he stayed with one woman unto death has him so pre-selected that every spinster in earshot wants a crack at him. Hell, even women 20 and 30 years younger, you can see this change in them when they hear he's a widower.
I just thought that was amusing enough to share.
