For me, it's the way modern women have become so desensitized to affection/compliments/positive attention. You hear these feminists basically arguing that trying to break the ice by complimenting a woman, or even just trying to talk to her when your attention is unwanted, constitutes harassment and is evil/sexist/oppressive/wrong. (Yet they're perfectly willing to let a good looking and/or rich guy whose attention they want treat them like shit).

I hear women all time talking about how innocent chivalrous things (or just common decency things that apply to how you would treat both sexes) are sexist. It's as if desirable women have no appreciation for what men do for them: buying them drinks, meals, gifts, paying for dates, always being the pursuers, essentially giving them all that tasty attention that got their ego to where it is in the first place (and wait, our culture is even telling us that such a system is normal and required).

It's sad to me that what used to be seen as healthy, caring behaviors are now derided. That there's just such a huge disconnect between reality and fantasy, to the point where women think the male sex are collective dudebros because they just literally can't understand our intentions. They've been made numb...aromantic by our white knight culture, gorged on shallow and ephemeral attention.

And that's another thing: I think it's sad that the discourse is so distorted nowadays to where I can't say something simple like "You should treat women with respect and be caring, genuine, etc" without being mocked as a "nice guy" on the feminist side and a "white knight cuck" on the MRA/MGTOW side. I think it's sad that I have to sit here and basically agree with the latter assessment, even though I take no pleasure in it.

Plato argued a long time ago that people who have extra privileges in the world, who can get whatever they want, (or at least get treated a lot better by comparison), who can get away with doing things...they are actually the most unhappy people alive. They don't learn to accept limitations, be grateful for what they have. They are never satisfied because they just want more and more until their world is numb and there is no more "more". That sounds an awful lot like these hot women who get tons of attention and preferential treatment but are always complaining about it and acting bitchy, as if they're bored and/or depressed, doesn't it?

I have to be honest: that disturbs me a bit. It must be incredibly stressful.

I'm sympathetic.

Only a little, though.

Emotions, love, sex, romance between the genders should be a simple affair. It should be one of the least contentious and hostile arenas of life you could imagine, since it's also one of the most natural and integral. Yet these days it's like navigating a fucking minefield inside a chasm. That's depressing to me, like if someone burned the Mona Lisa for no reason or replaced the beautiful landscape of Hawaii with shopping malls.

Yeah, I get lonely sometimes. Suffer from occasional bouts of low-self esteem, wonder if my life is missing something. But you know what? I learned to pick myself up by my bootstraps, accept what I have, dispense with the need for outside validation, and come to inner self-appreciation. It's not too bad a way to live, all things considered.
