If this was trying to show a racial double standard, I honestly don't see it. I liked the post though. I thought it was funny. It's like, "you don't like the possibly random image I picked, and possibly the one the doesn't show him at his worst, here you go bitch, BAM. How do you like them stereotypical apples everyone is used to from minorities being shown as criminals brandishing weapons or gang signs in photos?"

To answer your question more directly, I didn't subscribe to this sub for a racial double standard. I subscribed for the female double standard. It was more like a place I can go vent because we aren't allowed to point out these gender double standards in everyday life. When I do point out injustices in real life, most men around me are stuck in the white knight mentality and don't say anything or don't say anything because they feel they'd be viewed as lesser men because they aren't taking the white knight mentality. I liked coming in here and seeing I wasn't the only one. It was something I can relate to. As a hispanic, I have been part of that racial double standard, both the advantaged and disadvantage kind. I didn't like the idea that I might have been allowed into college based on affirmative action, so I worked my ass off so I wouldn't have any doubts about it. I also don't all this racial tension of everything Mexican because I look like them. Nothing pisses me off more than when someone questions my allegiance to my country based on my looks.

So why am I not ok with the racial double standard?

1) That was not why I subscribed to this sub. If I was looking for the racial double standard, I'd subscribe to it

2) The racial double standard I've seen in this sub has looked more hate based to me rather than a cry to fix it. I didn't like the hate-based posts about women doubled standard either, but those were few and far between and subscribers were quick to point those out and remove them.

You may be right, but the sub wasn't created with them in mind. Everyone and anyone can take offense to anything, but there are lines that some are willing to cross and not others. You asked me why I was ok with one thing and not the other, and so I explained. Even if the racial double standard posts on this sub were more mild, I still wouldn't think they'd have a place on here. It's like having a guys night out with your group of friends and one of them brings along their SO. While we all might enjoy her company, it isn't the guys night out we were looking for. Comprende?

edit: Your racial double standard comment flew over my head after my first read over. The image provided doesn't show the "sake of diversity" donation. Just mentions a controversy which we aren't informed about, hence, my comment on not seeing the racial double standard. I just saw some idiot who's life was saved and he goes and does fucked up shit.

Wasn't the original reason I subscribed to this sub. If I agree or not with the repurposed point of view of the sub, it doesn't matter. If I go to a Taylor Switft concert, don't play me any Jewel music. Music may be similar and I may like both artists, but I paid to see Taylor. If you change the program, I might want a refund. Hence, me unsubscribing.
Hate based. While I didn't find your post hate-based, your comments and replies seemed to be representative of what I've seen in this sub the last few weeks, maybe months. Coupled that with the increased hate-women posts the last few months, brings us right back to reason #1 or bullet 1 as to why I am removing myself from this sub...

There's no spinning of the hamster wheel. I provided my base argument (see bullet/reason 1) and provided context that built up or added to that reason

I can see this argument isn't going anywhere because you are blinded by your point of view that you refuse to see that of someone else's. I didn't join this sub because it was right or left wing, I joined it because I saw managers in the workplace trying to bend over backwards to keep women in it. No conspiracy and it wasn't just my beliefs, it was fact. I knew the managers and they directly told me they couldn't lose any more female employees because they'd face repercussions. They'd offer females bump in pay, as much as 30%, and other benefits that weren't available to others. And this wasn't none of that female wage gap BS either, where the bump in pay would bring them to par to male counterparts. They'd already be making the same if not more before the bump. All this haggling only came about when those women wanted out of the business to move on with their lives and would submit their 2 weeks notice. When men would do that, they'd just accept the leave and start looking for a replacement, preferably female. This was 8-9 years ago.

I found this sub and saw articles similar to mine and about other topics where preference was given to the one with the correct gender. No hate involved against the women. The hate was over the system. I didn't hate those girls that got the bump in pay, some were really close to me while I worked there. In fact, I could tell you that when I first came around to this sub, the majority of the topics were over divorce and women having preference over children and alimony. Those are my earliest memories of this sub. Recently, maybe the past year or two, this sub has now been dominated with topics over female sexual predators and the disparity over how they are held responsible over their actions. Still, no hate over the women, mainly over the presiding judge or entity that gave the ruling.
