Much of the right is also not against circumcision (at least in the USA). It's such common practice that people will try and justify it however they can, no matter how much they need to cherry pick data. Personally, it was a long time for me to really accept it as the human rights violation it is, being a circumcised guy who has no major issues to speak of, in addition to being raised in the culture which makes circumcision out to be healthier/better.

But a child doesn't have the right to consent on matters, it is up to the legal guardian in aspects concerning health and safety so there are no rights being violated.

I agree, but children can't understand their choices when it comes to the body and saying genital mutilation is merely cosmetic and therefore bad would implie that all cosmetic surgery is inherently evil.
