Because she wasn't?

She has a history of domestic violence, clearly married someone worth a lot more than she was, clearly recorded him while drunk and attempting to goad him into something, clearly asked for money several times higher than what she'd earn in a year herself for her 13 month marriage ... this was in the cards from minute one.

I won't go so far as to say it was planned, but it was always on the table of possibles.
