An Alaska lawyer has accused Justice Clarence Thomas of groping her at an event for young scholars in 1999.

Moira Smith, 41 years old, said the justice touched her buttocks several times when they were seated together at his request at a dinner for Truman Foundation scholars in Falls Church, Va. Ms. Smith’s allegations were first reported Thursday by the National Law Journal.

The incident would have taken place eight years after he joined the Supreme Court and recalls a controversy that dogged the justice’s Supreme Court 1991 confirmation, when a female aide, Anita Hill, testified that he had made inappropriate sexual remarks and propositions to her. Justice Thomas vigorously denied the allegations and was confirmed by a 52-48 vote.

Gentleman, doesn't matter if you're a Supreme Court Justice! Women can come out of the woodwork nearly 20 years later and try to destroy your reputation via the media using a sexual assault allegation.

Seriously.

What the fuck? Does she go to the police? No. She waits almost 20 years and then tells only the media and will face zero repercussion if she can be proven she's a liar (it will be impossible to prove or disprove this allegation barring video evidence that surfaces).
