Last week, there were feminist protests in several cities across Latin America. Feminists called for these demonstrations after a 16 year-old girl was raped to death by two drug dealers in Argentina. The protest's motto was #NiUnaMenos, which means "Not a Woman Less" in Spanish. Feminists protesters made graffitis sayings things like "They're killing us!", "Dead man doesn't rape" or "Male, fear the revenge". As a reaction, there was another campaign on social media called #NadieMenos, which means "Not One Less". Feminists and the mass media accused #NadieMenos of promoting violence against women, even though the point was to highlight that violence affects everyone. In fact, the vast majority of homicide victims are men. Here in Chile, for instance, 82,5% of homicide victims in 2011 were male. A lot of what Cassie Jaye said in this interview resonates with what is happening here in Latin America.
