Ever listen to a stay at home parent describe how grueling their day is? It's basically everything a working person has to do, but minus the job part.

Know what's an even harder job than being a stay at home parent? Having a job and still being a parent.

can we please stop pretending it's some great and daunting sacrifice they're making, and just admit they're taking the easy way?

I cannot stand anyone who acts like being a stay at home parent is some daunting task. We have machines that carry out all of the household tasks for us and they can all be done within a couple hours. It's is incomparable to an actual job.

I've already been banned from that sub! I basically told a woman to treat her boyfriend how she would like to be treated herself and was massively downvoted for it which brought on the moderators attention. Shit like this really pisses me off - the woman has sacrificed nothing; she's had a free ride for 7 years and is now a bit bored because her kids are at school all day and she's taking that boredom out on him. Tell her to knock out a couple more kids or get a hobby if she can't return to the job she wants - do what the fool you need to in order to get there; go to uni, volunteer with a pro bono centre or something if it's an experience issue! Privileged little cupcake - He doesn't owe his career success to her and, last I checked, it's the woman's choice to have children; she'll most likely have made the choice to stop working - take responsibility for yourself! Sorry, rant over!

She cold have continued her carréer and paid for help the two of them could easily have afforded. Why should he suffer because now because she wanted to do the selfish thing and to stay at home with her children.

basically the wife decided to stop being a lawyer and become a SAHM for seven years, has enough, and then blames her husband for her not being able to get the job she wants DESPITE him trying to help her. Majority of the comments are to get counseling and basically telling the husband to thank her for letting him become a surgeon and that he should take time off or become a SAHD so she can persue her career.

I love the comments that are saying that she was looking after "HIS children"... um... wasn't she sitting at home looking after and parenting HER OWN FUCKING CHILDREN??
