upon hearing this story, I was "meh'....it'll just turn out to be another lost cause lawsuit, and will fade away like all the previous similiar cases. But, now thinking about it, this isn't like say the Jameis Winston case.....a big football star at the time no doubt, but some would say perhaps a hard to like guy. Monatague is different, extremely well liked amongst students, players and parents of many. My theory is, if his Lawyer AVOIDS playing the "gender discrimination card" in the lawsuit, (that argument has already been shot down by the courts numerous times) he could win.
I'm assuming the case facts are as stated, and assuming also this was indeed the typical campus unfair "trial". Assuming also the "sexual misconduct" as alleged is actually a case of "she had two drinks, agreed to sex, but can't consent, cause you know, I'm a girl" type of claim.
The media is certainly jumping on this story, was on CBS and NBC...etc. It's for sure not a sidelined story. A google search just now and the number of results are just unreal. He needs just a couple politicians to come forward in support if he wins...and it might fly.
If his laywer sticks to the "Due process infringement" line of argument, and leaves gender completely out of it...I think he's golden. but more so...it may be the start to real change. Will this case finally put the brakes on the OCR and the college feminazi administrations?
The schools can act with impunity now, because there no proven method to force them not to. The weight of the courts may change that, and render the OCR powerless?
fingers crossed.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
