What the hell was the judge thinking? It was not a cell phone problem, it was a distraction problem. This woman does not realize that when she is behind the wheel, she is literally on a weapon where she needs to pay attention. If she is driving and the cell phone is not distracting her, something else will.

Let me say this. I think jail should be a place to teach criminals a lesson, and permanently keep those who are inadmissible into society away from us. I think this was an unfortunate accident and I think with that in mind any empathetic human wouldn't wish more on someone who had a horrific accident. In spite of the bad decisions made leading up to the accident, it was still just an accident. I'm not advocating that her punishment be more severe, I am advocating that men get this same treatment.
