I wish rapist teachers didn't exist; why would anyone want more of them?

How times have changed. Men are becoming Pajama Boys now.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

I do not understand what that means.

Yes, I've seen the picture before. I simply don't know how a foppish health insurance advert relates to criminal forced intercourse.

criminal forced intercourse.

LOL Whatever.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Sorry, but your response baffles me. You're in a subreddit dedicated to discussion about men's rights, and yet you believe that young men should be delighted and proud to have been raped, even if they have no interest in having sex?

Could you explain that to me?

[–]ShariaPantyParty[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

LOL so all sex men have is rape. (Wherein they are the rapee.)

You sound like a reverse Andrea Dworkin.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I never said all sex is rape. You're putting words in my mouth. I said, why are we promoting a culture that tells young boys that whether they want sex or not is irrelevant? Why are we promoting a culture that suggests that boys and men are supposed to be sexually promiscuous at all times? Why do we offer women more ways to abuse men and get away with it?

Maybe you want sex all the time, so when a woman pins you down and does whatever she wants, you're in heaven. Personally, I have zero interest in sexual intercourse - with anyone. So if a woman were to manage to force me into sex against my wishes, then you're damn right I'd consider it a rape.

Back a few years ago if you were banging the teacher you would have been considered a god by your peers. Today we squeal about being rape victims even when the guy clearly enjoyed it.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I have a strong issue with your claim. Men have been mischaracterized for a long time as being the gender that constantly wants sex. The fact that this has actually been an unfounded stereotype for generations doesn't mean that men have gotten sappy and weak.

Furthermore, I would like to take a moment to remind all of female-kind that a man having an erection does not equate to a man enjoying himself. An erection results from specific stimuli that are not indicative of a man's psychological and emotional state.

And one last thing; shaming someone who has been raped by telling them they should "man up" and that they were "lucky" and should have "enjoyed it" is only one of the reasons why men account for 80% of suicides.

[–]rorschach34 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Quite unfortunate that in our bid to fight feminism, we have started emulating them. I was downvoted heavily when I said that I enjoyed having sex with my babysitter and refused to call it rape.

[–]ShariaPantyParty[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. Be a male is about exploring uncharted territory and taking risks. Anyone who thinks otherwise is pussyfying us.

I'm having trouble determining where being a "traditional man" dictates that a male must accept all offers of sexual contact and regard even encounters he did not want as consensual, or even what defines a "traditional man" - especially since the idea of masculinity is expressed differently in different areas of the world at different times in history.

[–]rorschach34 -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What first comes to your mind when you say 'Traditional man'? Think of some movie character or past historic figure? Take Tyler Durden (fight club) or William Wallace (Scottish historic figure) or maybe Aragorn (LoTR). Do you think they'll have a non-consensual sexual encounter? Do you think that it is possible for a woman to make them have sex without wanting to? How can a puny 5'3'' woman rape a 200 pound guy? I had sex with an older woman with a kid and though it was statutory rape I didn't tell tales to my parents and turned out to be fine. I don't suffer from PTSD because of having sex when I was a 12 year old.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What first comes to your mind when you say 'Traditional man'?

I think of stately gentlemen. British Lords, and American business tycoons of the early 20th century.

Take Tyler Durden (fight club)

Tyler Durden was a hallucination conjured by an emotionally distressed man (played by Edward Norton) suffering from multiple personalities.

or maybe Aragorn (LoTR)

Aragorn is an unrealistic hero, even to young men who read Tolkien's written works when they were new. Additionally, I do believe the feature film version of Aragorn was more stereotypically than the book originally depicted him.

Do you think they'll have a non-consensual sexual encounter? Do you think that it is possible for a woman to make them have sex without wanting to?

The flaw in your logic is that Tyler Durden and Aragorn are fictional characters. Tyler Durden wasn't even real in the movie so it would be impossible to rape him. And William Wallace was virtually inaccessible to women unless he desired companionship (because that's how powerful people operate). The same can be said of Caesar.

How can a puny 5'3'' woman rape a 200 pound guy?

Why are all women in your mind five-foot-three? Why are all men in your mind 200 pounds? Do you think it's somehow a choice for a grown man to be short or physically inferior, and that he is therefore some kind of sissy?

I had sex with an older woman with a kid and though it was statutory rape I didn't tell tales to my parents and turned out to be fine.

You wanted to have sex. Fine. But I would challenge that you are not the psychological litmus test by which other men should be judged.

I don't suffer from PTSD because of having sex when I was a 12 year old.

Some men do.

That's what I don't like about MRAs. Too many are pussies.

[–]aesopstortoise 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

The story as reported implies that the first student was emotionally attached to the teacher, and that was why he stopped having sex with her when he heard about her going with the other student. This seems to show that the teacher was behaving as if she were engaged in casual hookups with other adults, whereas the child wasn't. She was obviously enjoying her ability to attract virile adolescents, and ignoring both the effects this might have on them and the legal risks she was taking.

Whilst it isn't paedophilia, and it definitely wasn't rape, she was breaking a societal taboo which is there for a reason, to protect the young from being sexually exploited by adults in positions of power and influence. I always think that there is a high degree of narcissism in these offences, regardless of whether it's a man or a woman. I think that OP is ignoring the potential damage done to some young people by this sort of relationship, because the offender is an attractive young woman.

[–]Lethn -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I don't think he is, while it can certainly affect boys if they're genuinely raped and so on if they're both completely consenting to it and know exactly what they were doing there isn't much of an issue. Let's face it, they both had the sense to use a condom and everything, sounds like a pretty damn consensual relationship to me.

Unfortunately though we don't know the age of these guys, I don't know the only thing that will happen with this idiot of a teacher is they'll think twice about getting involved with a woman if they think they're involved with someone else.

Let's not go around acting like feminists and make men the perpetual victims like feminists do with girls all the time because I know either gender is entirely capable of getting themselves into trouble.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

  1. Statutory Rape is still a thing. Doesn't matter if they enjoyed it or not; it's illegal to mess with kids.

  2. Having the sense to use a condom doesn't imply pleasure; it reinforces that the boys understood that sex without condoms can cause pregnancy. It can also suggest that they were instructed to use a rubber.

Let's not go around acting like feminists and make men the perpetual victims

Nobody is suggesting we victimize ourselves. But it might be prudent to use the same weights and measures when crimes are committed, because a man of the teacher's age messing with young girls as old as the students would be Rape Trial of the Century.

All us guys want is for the crime of rape to be met with punishment as dictated under the law. No more, no less.

[–]Lethn 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

The problem is that people have already seen you guys defending a 17 year old sleeping with a 14 year old and I'm willing to bet that the people downvoting me as well as you were out there defending him. Anyone who sees that and then see you attack a woman for having a consenual relationship would think you were hypocrites and I would too, they even used a condom for fucks sake.

I agree it would be necessary to know the age of the guy, but if you want people to take you seriously you shouldn't be taking sides purely based on the gender of the person which I know MRAs don't do most of the time but when it comes to stuff like this a lot of people choose to deliberately switch off their brains.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm willing to bet that the people downvoting me as well as you were out there defending him.

That's awfully presumptuous, and presumptuously awful. I've never defended statutory rape, nor will I ever do such a thing.

All in all, I don't have much else to reply to you with, since it appears you based your entire response on a faulty assumption. Again, all us guys want is for the same weights and measures to be used, regardless of the gender of the criminal. No one wants rapists running amok.

[–]Lethn 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You're not even seeing what you're doing, you're claiming one type of relationship is statuary rape while another isn't and the differences are here that the perpetrator is female. As far as I'm concerned consent doesn't matter based on gender and it's purely to do with the circumstances of the individuals as with a lot of things usually are.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're not even seeing what you're doing, you're claiming one type of relationship is statuary rape while another isn't

I did absolutely no such thing in any fashion whatsoever. Any person who, for any perceived reason, commits an act of a sexual nature against any person who is not of age of consent has committed Statutory Rape, and I can't make that any clearer. That's what the whole "use the same weights and measures" thing means.

As far as I'm concerned consent doesn't matter based on gender

I agree. It matters based on whether someone says yes or no.
