Check this idea out. http://www.parliament.nz/en-nz/pb/legislation/proposed-bills/51HOH_MEMBILL185_1/domestic-violence-victims-protection-bill

It is being sold distinctly for women to escape relationships, a much easier course to gain acceptance, however I believe it will be of much greater use for men to escape and retain employment security.

Basically it entitles an employee to make an application to the employer to address their needs in a domestic violence situation. It includes provision for non detrimental time off and other assistance as is reasonable, such as trespassing the partner, removing the employee from customer contact, no late shifts/walk to the car etc.

I remember in one case our union worked with the company and got an immediate transfer of an employee 300km away and they arranged housing for them, with a weeks holiday. All of this was arranged within a weekend. The return was a little slower but also sympathetic to their needs. Of course this requires a larger firm.

Is this law in other countries/states?

Anyone willing to send this to your local MPs in other countries?
