The moral of the story is that we don't know the truth and we'll likely never know the truth. Ali's accounts are scattered, and if she truly was forced into the marriage, you can't trust her brother, aunt, and ex-husband to tell the truth.

From the stories I'd heard, Ali's father wanted educated daughters and it was her father who kept her in school when her mother wanted to pull her out. For all we know, it was her mother who was the bad parent but she knew that a western society would never believe that so she said things her mother did were done by her father.

I do have a serious problem with the end of this article. It's like he has no real argument so he tries to call her a whore. Excuse me, but he must have already had relationship problems. He left his wife; he married Ali despite the fact that she has a bounty on her fucking head. Excuse me while I laugh at how weak someone has to be to basically resort to attacking somebody's relationship when it has nothing to do with what you're talking about.
