Hi the short version is that I was a victim for about 5 years, Eventually I managed to get myself out. And the second we separated she started crying to every government agency she could that she was the victim, even though I had an order of protection against her. After 2 years fighting in courts and about $35k in costs I went from no visitation to monitored to eventually split custody And was granted a divorce based on cruel and inhumane treatment, it reads like a greatest hits of me getting the shit kicked out of me.
She remarried, and had another kid, we all moved to different states and she ended up in North Carolina, She rarely provides transportation for me to see my child and has every bullshit excuse in the book when it comes time for it. Not to mention the threats, I have been living under a constant fear of her threatening me since the divorce, if my phone rings and it's her, it's an threat. Legal actions, cutting me off from access to my kid, etc.
In may she was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon against her new husband.
She has been applying for federal assistance because she hasn't had a job in a decade, and as part of it child support was brought up. She waived child support in New York supreme court, but NC does not allow anyone to waive child support. So she is pushing for NC to sue me for past child support... despite having an an agreement already in place.
I'm not so much worried about that, the Uniform interstate Family support Act clearly defines that NC has no jurisdiction on me, and for NC to have jurisdiction both parties must agree for it, which I will never do. Article 2 sections 201, 205, 206, 207.
Meanwhile for the past few years I've been building up my case to go for full custody, since she is obviously still beating men in front of the kids and there is clearly some psychological damage that has already been done to my kid from it.
SO for almost the past 2 weeks I have been calling and calling trying to find anyone who will help me, my ex batted her eyelashes and claimed victim and was handed a lawyer in like 14 seconds flat, but after calling 50+ domestic victim support numbers, state agencies, various nonorofits, even reaching out to men's rights activist groups, I have gotten told multiple times that if I was a woman they could help me, and anybody else just directs me to legal aid, which won't help me because I make barely too much. I cannot afford another long drawn out court case...
She has a clear and publicly documented history of violence, and filed false paperwork to a court when the divorce started (including photoshopped pics of my kid with hand marks on the face), clearly needs help to support my child whereas I would not, hasn't had a job in a deacde, and I can't find help to save my life.
So I was told to bring it to you guys, see if there is anything someone else would know that could help me out, I'm running out of options quickly and getting desperate.
Thanks in advance
