Why is it okay for a man to have lots of sex but not a woman?

If you want the real biological reason: women need men to commit to them in long term relationships to provide for them and eventually children. If men can have sex outside of committed relationships w/ 'sluts' then it will be harder for other women to get commitment from men. Why would men commit to one chick if he can easily get laid outside committed relationships. Women therefore shame other women who give up sex so quickly.

As a result of the mechanisms of their reproductive system, women are the sexual selectors. Selecting for the highest quality genes in order to increase the chance of her offspring living. A man can pretty much impregnate one woman per day, thus he need not be selective with his sexual partners in order for his offspring to survive, he can play the numbers game.

Due to natural selection, over the course of hundreds of thousands of years, women who were more selective with their partners had more offspring that survived, thus spreading their mothers genes of being selective. That is why women have evolved to be sexually selective, and therefore need social conventions in order to not feel like sluts when they sleep around.

This is a very simplified explanation, and it does not necessarily mean it is wrong for women to sleep around, it simply explains why we see sluts as lower value women

Men are the gatekeepers of commitment, & women are the gatekeepers of sex. By having lots of sex, a women gives up her most valuable commodity on the SMP. Vice-versa, a man who easily gives up his commitmnet to a girl is also giving up his most valuable commodity.

Women are the ones getting pregnant, so it's more important for them to be selective. Also, women are twice as prone to catching STDs from sex compared to men.
