A few people in the /r/worldnews thread, which I won't be linking to in order to discourage brigading, were claiming that CAFE's charitable status was revoked.

The accusation is that CAFE indicated in its application for charitable status that it intended to try and partner with various prominent feminist groups and organizations. Many of those organizations rebuffed CAFE's offer of partnership, and accused CAFE of lying on their application, and a lot of people believe from a quote in the article:

"The registration of a charity can be revoked if the charity made a false statement in circumstances amounting to culpable conduct in providing information to obtain registration," Brideau wrote in an email.

That the revocation has actually occurred.

So either the CRA takes longer than a year to conduct an audit (possible, I guess, but unlikely) - or they've determined CAFE did not lie on its application.
